Now I am not sure about you, but the thought of having to make a speech in public would fill most people with dread. What if I am unable to speak? What if people think that the speech was boring? What if people do not find my jokes funny? What if I totally forget what to say? What if I start stuttering? All of these what if questions can be enough to actually make a person avoid or miss the speech. In this article I am going to write about how to deliver a successful and interesting public speech.

One of the most important parts of any speech is the planning. Knowing that you are fully planned and have practiced what you are going to say numerous times, will help you to keep calm on the big day. Start with bullet points on the main areas of the speech. Have a seperate small card for each bullet point, you can even take these cards with you on the day to have by your side just in case you do forget what to say. Then it is time to expand on these bullets points by writing a short type of article underneath the main point.

On the big day try to stay as relaxed as possible. I am aware that this is easy to write but that in practice it can be hard to carry off. Perhaps take a bath before you go, this always helps me to relax.

During the public speech I would speak quite a lot slower than what you would normally do and also breath a lot more frequently. Good luck.
